What we do with your donations

When we say “we make things,” that includes you. You can help with money, time or materials. Help us keep making things and asking questions.

We create our own experiments, projects, events and publications. By “our own,” we mean that they are made possible by volunteers who give their time, people at Despacio who put in extra hours, income left over from our work (we are a nonprofit foundation, so we reinvest it in our mission), and donations. We’ve done everything from a flash mob on TransMilenio to make the ride more pleasant to “nolulares” that help people take a break from screens.

Your donation helps Despacio keep doing these things: trying out ideas that challenge our assumptions and inviting people to think differently about the pace of life and the pace of our cities.

In April 2013, we put on a flash mob with the help of many people. Here’s what happened. Some people have said the sound isn’t real. That’s partly true: we made four trips and four recordings, then mixed them with a recording made in an auditorium. But the flash mob did happen. The video was also presented at the #EcoMobilityFestival.
