After carrying out a major research project about motorcycles in five Latin American cities, CAF has published a new book entitled, «Motorcycles in Latin America: profile of their use and impacts on mobility in five cities in the region.» Despacio assisted in the interview portion of the project and edited the book. The publication presents the documentary, qualititative and quantitative methods used to research this topic in Latin America. Download the book here (in Spanish). Despacio, alongside CAF, the Universidad Javeriana and the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, held a launch event on July 2 to discuss details in the book as well as related research projects.
This book examines the causes, effects and forms of motorcycle use in five Latin American cities. Its goal is to provide information to formulate public policies that consider the various dimensions of motorcyle use while trying to resolve their negative effects. It also brings attention to the need for more in-depth studies of these issues.
