Se realiz\u00f3 el 9 de mayo de 2017 en la C\u00e1mara de Comercio de Chapinero.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_19387\" style=\"width: 611px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/despacio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Rapido-pero-tarde-evento.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-19387\" class=\"wp-image-19387\" src=\"http:\/\/despacio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Rapido-pero-tarde-evento.jpg\" alt=\"Discusi\u00f3n durante el evento\" width=\"601\" height=\"401\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-19387\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Discusi\u00f3n durante el evento &#8220;R\u00e1pido pero Tarde&#8221;<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 se debe hablar de velocidad?<\/h2>\n<p>La <a href=\"http:\/\/roadsafetyweek.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cuarta semana Mundial de la seguridad vial convocada por la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud \u2013 OMS<\/a>, tiene como tema principal realizar acciones acad\u00e9micas e intervenciones en las v\u00edas que promuevan la concientizaci\u00f3n sobre la incidencia de la velocidad como un factor de riesgo en la seguridad vial. Se ha demostrado que exceder los 30 km\/h genera probabilidades m\u00e1s altas de muertes en colisiones, que el l\u00edmite de velocidad de 50 km\/h es muy adecuado para entornos urbanos y que las ciudades no pierden eficiencia al implementarlo.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/despacio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Figura-9-porcentaje-de-muertos-en-atropellos.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-19047\" src=\"http:\/\/despacio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Figura-9-porcentaje-de-muertos-en-atropellos-1024x502.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"502\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/despacio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Figura-9-porcentaje-de-muertos-en-atropellos.png\"><br \/>\n<\/a>Diferentes organizaciones, entre ellas Despacio.org, han realizado estudios que demuestran que los excesos de velocidad en un entorno urbano pueden resultar en tiempos de viaje m\u00e1s largos, y que se pueden lograr mejores velocidades en una ciudad y mayor seguridad vial si se implementan intervenciones concretas que tienen relaci\u00f3n con los l\u00edmites de velocidad urbana y el control de los l\u00edmites existentes.
